Fiona Oakes is a British distance runner who holds four world records for marathon running. In 2004, Fiona co-founded the internationally renowned running club, Vegan Runners, with the sole objective of raising awareness of environmentally related issues through top level sport. Initially an elite road Marathon runner, she took on ever more extreme races and, in 2013, she won both the Antarctic Ice Marathon and the North Pole Marathon. Fiona runs despite losing a kneecap when she was 17. She is Honorary Patron of the Vegan Society and has been vegan since she was 6 years old.
Mohamad Ahansal is a Moroccan ultramarathon runner best known for his 5 wins of the Marathon des Sables and has taken part in it 19 times. His first victory in this race came in 1995. He holds the Guinness World Records title for the fastest crossing of the Sahara desert and has the podium record for the Marathon des Sables (MDS) 16 times out of 19 entries.With several international victories under his belt, Mohamad currently devotes his time to organising ultra marathon races, most notably the Trans Atlas Marathon and Trans Sahara Marathon
Chris O'Connor is a documentary film Producer with over 25 years in broadcast media. A runner, triathlete and open water swimmer, Chris has competed in several ultra stage races, including the Marathon des Sables, Trans Atlas Marathon and Trans Zagora Trail Race. Chris is based in south west Ireland where he lives, runs and swims with his two Springer Spaniel dogs.
